A: At Lime Ridge Doodles, we breed standard and medium doodles. Standard doodles at Lime Ridge Doodles are purebred Australian Shepherds, Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, or Bernese Mountain Dogs that are bred with a Standard Poodle to produce F1 Aussiedoodles, Labradoodles, Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles. Medium doodles at Lime Ridge Doodles are all multigeneration doodles. The parents are F1b crossed with F2 mini Bernedoodle.
Weight: Standard doodle females tend to be slightly smaller than males. Adult weight can range from 50 lbs to 95 lbs depending on the mother’s weight and doodle kind. Our smallest to heaviest are: Aussiedoodle, Labradoodle, Goldendoodle, Bernedoodle. Our medium Bernedoodles range from 30 lbs to 45 lbs as adults
Personality: Doodles are smart, fun loving family dogs that are goofy and friendly. Many of our customers comment on the excellent trainability of our puppies as well. They require lots of attention, socialization and room to grow, play, and sleep. Standard doodles are not recommended for small condo living. Each type of doodle requires daily exercise and plenty of safe outdoor time.
Grooming: A fair amount of grooming is required for doodles. Daily brushing is preferred. We recommend that you research “grooming doodles” to make sure the time and financial commitment for your doodle matches your dog ownership expectations.
Coats: Doodles are low shedding and are considered good dogs for people with allergies. Your doodle may also shed a little just as people also lose hair. The biggest difference is that doodles have the hair of a poodle rather than fur that causes most allergic reactions. We DNA test for coat type and poodle furnishings. Each doodle is unique and may range from quite curly hair to slightly wavy hair.
For more information on doodles, research using reliable canine resource websites.
